A citizen science initiative to map the presence of microplastic pollution in our local ecosystems.

Plastic pollution is everywhere. You can help scientists, policy makers, and conservationists take control of the plastic crisis by testing for the presence of tiny plastic particles - microplastics - in your neighborhood waterways.

Testing for microplastics using staining and fluorescence is low-cost and accessible to a wide range of audiences. It can be a great supplement to science learning in the classroom, at informal science centers, or with volunteer groups. Citizen scientists collect important data that can inform conservation planning decisions - join the movement.
